Working in our Technical & Weapon System department you will gain exposure to Naval Weapons and Radar Mechanical Systems. During this traineeship you will gain experience in:
Assisting with the repairs, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems in surface and sub-surface Naval vessels
Assisting with the fault analysis of commercial and Military mechanical weapons equipment and systems
Carry out repairs to mechanical systems
Assisting in installation of all types of Naval equipment in shore and ship borne environments

Whilst we focus mostly on a great attitude and willingness to learn, here are a few key attributes you must bring to the role:
Completion of Certificate III (we accept various previous trades from automotive, diesel mechanic to fabrication and fitting)
Demonstrated mechanical and/or technical aptitude
Great communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of people

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
