Customer Service Representative - Hiring Now!

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

· advise and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner with product and service requirements

· sound cash handling and numeracy skills

· undertake food service functions such as the preparation / cooking /serving of food

· making coffees using barista style coffee machine (sites where applicable)

· ensure adequate stock control through the stocking of shelves, fridges, freezers, cool rooms

· packing all stock deliveries away upon receiving them, and ensuring the storeroom is kept in an orderly and clean manner

· conducting fuel tank dips, tank water tests and emergency stop tests

· general site cleaning (including but not limited to: cleaning bathrooms, dusting, sweeping/mopping floors, washing windows, wiping down benches, cleaning bowsers, picking up litter)

· use of the point-of-sale computer equipment

· following general instructions from management

· site opening and site closing procedures

· observing and adhering to health and safety procedures and policies

· undergo training, both on-site and off-site

· capable of implementing emergency procedures and using emergency equipment (eg. fire extinguishers, spill kit)

· ability to work as part of a team

· observe and enforce quality control measures

· other duties and responsibilities as requested by management from time to time

Health and safety requirements:

· conduct all work in accordance with the training provided and adhering to company policies and procedures

· attend staff meetings and training

· report all incidents and hazards to head office, (and where necessary emergency services), as soon as possible through the established reporting system (intranet site and/or telephone)

· stop any activity that is likely to cause harm to people or damage to property or environment

Skills and experience:

· possess and demonstrate a customer service focus

· ability to multi-task

· ability to keep calm and work well under pressure

· display knowledge of the range of products and services offered by the business

· can work with simple instruction and unsupervised

· competent in the use of computers

· demonstrates ability to be a team player, working cohesively with fellow work colleagues

· excellent verbal and written communication skills

· possess a sound knowledge of the local area/township

· ability to prioritise tasks to ensure all jobs are completed in a satisfactory and timely manner

Physical requirements:

· the role of console operator is both mentally and physically demanding

· be on your feet for most (if not all) of your shift

· move freely around all areas of the shop and premises

· full mobility of limbs and body to be able to complete repetitive physical tasks

· ability to lift and stack store items in fridges/cool rooms/shelves within health and safety limits, (this includes but is not limited to boxes of drinks, oils, grocery, and food items)

· bend, lift and manoeuvring to clean premises and facilities as required, e.g. toilets, basins, floors, windows, bowsers, shelving, kitchen equipment

· ability to use kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, grills, ovens

· kneeling/bending over to take tank dips/water tests on the forecourt whilst following health and safety procedures

· physically able to operate emergency equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers, fire hose, fire blanket, spill kit)

· present at site in a clean and neat uniform 5 minutes prior to your shift commencing

· be on shift alone for extended periods of time (at varying times of the day including early morning and night-time)

· be of sound mind to avert, cope with or react to emergency situations should they arise, (for example but not limited to fuel leaks, customer/staff injury, property damage)

Salary: Up to $40.42 per hour
