Join Ward 3D Lagoon Paediatric Ward – Same Day Medical/Surgical/Dialysis Unit. We are seeking a Ward Clerk with clerical experience in a busy medical and/or surgical unit combined with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and passionate about delivering exceptional patient centred care in a family friendly environment.

About Ward 3D Lagoon, Monash Children’s Hospital at Monash Health, Clayton

Monash Health is the largest public health service in Victoria, employing over 18,000 people across a range of specialities.

Ward 3D Lagoon is MCH’s Same Day Unit. 3D Lagoon is a 28 bed unit, open Monday to Friday and Sundays for patients requiring same day medical, surgical and renal care (including dialysis). We also run an Allergy Challenge Service and Pre-Admission Clinic. Plenty of opportunities to grow and develop your career.

Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH) cares for more than 100,000 children per year, providing care across the continuum of paediatric services from birth to 18 years of age. It is one of the largest children’s hospitals in Australia and one of only two tertiary paediatric hospitals in Victoria. MCH is co-located next to Monash Medical Centre in Clayton and is a purpose-built paediatric facility where clinical services will be delivered in a child and family-friendly environment.

About You

You are a proactive, experienced healthcare administrator who enjoys a fast paced environment and can work effectively working alongside a multidisciplinary team. Prioritising comes naturally to you and being in a hospital environment you exhibit integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence.

As an accomplished Ward Clerk dedicated to patient and family centred care, you also can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience working as a Ward Clerk is essential
  • The ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Excellent customer services skills and ability to remain calm and helpful in a challenging or changing environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm, compassion & the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health team
  • Have a passion for and are able to learn new systems and processes quickly

Under the Victorian Public Health orders, all employees working within the Public Health system must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza and are required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status. The current orders require evidence of three doses for COVID-19.
