About the Business unit:

The North West Metropolitan Area (NWMA) accounts for approximately 1800 staff across 21 sites. These sites are located in either the North or West of the Area and deliver a range of services including: custodial services at prisons, Community Correctional Services, Youth Justice Services, Sheriff's Operations, Consumer Affairs, front of house enquiries (including Births, Deaths and Marriages applications) and management of community services (including Victims' Support across the area).

About the Role:

The Justice Officer delivers friendly, efficient customer service to clients of the Department of Justice and Regulation, as well as providing consistent, timely and accurate administrative support to regional locations and staff.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Providing a range of high quality and efficient front of house administrative services, such as Consumer Affairs or Births, Deaths and Marriages enquiries and applications, and other services relevant to the location
  • Providing information and assistance to clients, internal and external stakeholders and the public including the collation, review and processing of applications
  • Providing reception and telephone responses for the location.

About you

As an ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • The ability to produce a range of standard written documents, providing clear information and using language appropriate to the audience
  • The ability to effectively use departmental computer systems for basic word processing, email, appointment scheduling, and internet and intranet functions
  • The ability to build rapport with others in order to understand issues and suggest courses of action appropriate to their needs.
